Playgroups for Children ages 0-5 years old
Playgroups sessions are offered four times per year for children ages 0-5 years old. Each session runs approximately 6 weeks with 1.5 hour classes twice per week. Parent or guardian participation is required for Playgroups. Playgroups are small groups of toddlers and parents who are led in songs, stories, and play by a skilled Child Development Assistant. The purpose of playgroups is to provide opportunities for toddlers to interact with peers and explore their world and their environment through structured play. These interactions and experiences aid in social-emotional growth and development and help prepare children for school. Through participation in Playgroups parents learn how to foster age appropriate play and peer interactions.
